KC Southern Railway spreading holiday cheer in the US and Mexico

November 19, 2018 – Kansas City Southern’s 18th annual Holiday Express will distribute $171,756 in gift cards to The Salvation Army at stops along the KCS route in the US. The gift cards are designated for the purchase of warm clothing and other necessities for kids in need.

According to the announcement “KCS looks forward to bringing Santa and his elves on the Holiday Express train to communities throughout our US service territory, and we are especially pleased to continue the tradition of charitable giving to each community where the train will stop,” said KCS President and CEO, Patrick Ottensmeyer.

Within Kansas City Southern de Mexico’s (KCSM) rail network, its Tren Navideño has visited over 20 communities on the KCSM rail network with more than 40,000 visitors.

At each stop, visitors can tour the photo displays inside the gallery boxcar. They can also watch a holiday movie on an open-air screen and receive free refreshments and gifts. All events are free, open to the public and intended to make the holiday season brighter in underprivileged Mexican communities.
