Weekly US soybean exports increase

August 28, 2018 – Despite China’s tariffs on US soybeans, total US soybean exports moved up for the reporting week ending August 16th compared to a year ago, according to today’s USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) report.


Total world exports of US soybeans for the week tallied 4,243,800 metric tons versus 4,005,900 a year ago.

The biggest gains came from Western Hemisphere countries led by Mexico, which rallied to 569,000 metric tons of US soybean exports this week compared to 239,300 metric tons a year ago. Soybean exports to China dropped to 306,600 metric tons from 764,200 metric tons a year ago.
