Alexa is a strategic business professional with experience managing complex international programs and projects all over the world and serves as Contributing Editor/Writer for IBNewsmag. She is Business Oregon’s trade specialist for various key industries, including advanced manufacturing (e.g., transportation), defense, high tech, food and agriculture, and business services.  

  

Alexa is the agency’s primary contact for export financing solutions, and helped the agency win the “City/State Partner of the Year Award” from the Export-Import Bank of the US Government in 2014. 

 

Prior to joining Business Oregon, Alexa served as Program Manager for the 13-state nonprofit Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) where she grew a small export program from $1 mil/year program into a $13 mil/year program. That export program assisted 250 companies per year export to 28 international countries.

 

Alexa has also managed her own consulting business, Export Visions, where she wrote trade articles for international publishers and exported West Coast condiments to Africa.

 

Alexa is a native Oregonian and holds a B.A. in Business and Administrative Studies from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She speaks Spanish and studied in both Madrid and Seville, Spain.

 

Currently Alexa sits on the Board as an advisor with the Pacific NW Defense Coalition (PNDC). She also serves on a Greater Portland, Inc. committee to foster exports from entrepreneurs in the area. Previously she served on the Specialty Crop Export Steering Committee for Oregon (USDA/Rural Development project) as well as a Wind Energy Committee. She is a Certified Global Business Professional with the National Assn. of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE).
