September 22, 2021 – US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with heads of state from several free-world countries, hosted by Estonian Prime Minister of Kaja Kallas, in Tallinn, to discuss how to better advance cross-border digital technologies and other subjects to better prioritize cybersecurity efforts among the counties.
The focus of the summit was how to stimulate the free movement of data to make cross-border infrastructure investments more attractive to the private sector in an effort to bolster cybersecurity initiatives between the US and other free world countries. Discussion centered around the division of responsibility for cybersecurity between the public and private sector with a minimum threshold for cybersecurity spending.
